Episode 7 - Adding Polish & Debris

This episode is all about giving your explosion effect a glow-up, and the team will be encouraging you to experiment and trial new techniques to add a bit of life to the explosion. They’ll start with the addition of dirt, rocks, and debris, showing you how to create a different kind of particle component.

As part of that process, you’ll be interacting with 3D meshes, and learning about modelling tools like Maya, Blender, and the use of the FBX file format. You’ll also see how these function alongside those programs you’ve already become so familiar with, like Niagara.

Movement is also a vital component to consider, with the importance of collisions discussed, alongside the use of scaling, fading, lighting, rotating and removing to avoid objects popping.
