Ep4 - Connect VFX In-Game via Blueprints - Learn with Us: First Playable Grenade Explosion | BFX-U
Find out more about Blueprint Editor and how to bring your effects to life.
A Brief Interlude
You’re almost at the halfway point and would have likely learned a lot about Unreal Engine, Niagara, and the basics of putting together visual effects. There’s a lot more to go and as always General Manager and Founder Keith Guerrette and Director of Marketing & Content Julian Bahmani are back to talk you through the next stages. This BFX-U | Learn with Us course has covered the foundations of creating visual effects and takes a deeper dive into creating sparks.
Now we’re taking a brief interlude to talk about something else important! If you want to catch up on previous episodes, they are all available right now on our Beyond-FX blog and Beyond-FX YouTube channel. Like and subscribe to keep up to date with all our latest series including Quick Tips and Level-Up. But for now, it’s onward and upwards to Episode 4, which you can access immediately.
Episode 4 - To The Blueprints
It’s a good time to look at how these effects are interacting with other programs. Keith Guerrette will thus walk you through Blueprint Editor, which will show the effects that you’ve made from the perspective of a player.
This episode will show you how to open Blueprint Editor, provide an overview of what it actually does, and give you a quick tour of how to prompt actions that will impact gameplay. You’ll learn the difference between level and object blueprints, and see how to interact with more complex event graphs.
By the end of this episode, you’ll be able to see your spark effects in action. This exciting moment highlights just how far you’ve come already!
