Our BFXP Initiative
Here at Beyond-FX, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. That’s why, this year, we’ve launched our BFXP initiative, dedicated to supporting life-changing charities and making a real difference. Our team members across the United States and beyond are giving their XP (experience points) back to their communities by rolling up their sleeves and volunteering their time and skills. Whether it’s gaming for a cause, lending a hand at local food banks, or walking three miles to amplify donations, we’re excited to participate in year-round charity opportunities that make an impact.
And it’s not just our team’s efforts that provide charities with XP. Beyond-FX is committed to raising $5,000 and matching it with a studio donation of $5,000 to support these fantastic causes. We’re excited to Go Beyond! together and make a positive change in our communities – and we hope you’ll join us in supporting these important charities.
Sorting Food Items
Firstly, we have to give a shout-out to Rena Archer, our Production Manager, who organized the event, Kalen Patty, Senior II VFX Artist, Pedro Picarelli, VFX Artist, and Jessi Sparrowhawk, Senior VFX Artist. This inspirational group donated some of their day to help sort donated food and non-food items for Austin’s Central Texas Food Bank.
Austin’s Central Texas Food Bank provides meals to those in need. It is not only the largest hunger relief charity in Texas, but its commitment to quality food, education on healthy eating, and drive to provide affordable accessibility have enhanced the lives of many.
With our team’s combined XP, our BFXP crew helped provide 19,285 meals for Texans in need, putting together 798 boxes, or 23,142 pounds, worth of packages! To match our team’s in-person efforts, Beyond-FX donated $1000 as further support.

Spring Day Of Giving Charity Stream
We’ve also been busy on our Beyond-FX Arcade Twitch channel. On the 11th of May, we embarked on an ambitious 12-hour stream as an Extra Life charity campaign. Aiming to raise at least $1,000 for Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Beyond-FX managed to smash expectations with a grand total of $2,610 in donations. Beyond-FX also donated a $1,000 match to level up our team’s XP for Extra Life.
On our Spring Day of Giving charity livestream, the Beyond-FX squad played Jackbox Games, Baldur’s Gate 3, Mario Kart, Call of Duty: Warzone, Super Mario Wonder, and Content Warning as part of the event. Shoutouts to our Director of Content and Marketing Julian Bahmani, Deputy General Manager Becka McIntosh, Content Coordinator Jes Villarreal, and many of our talented artists, including Spencer Hodgkins, Rachel Quitevis, Lee Parks, Beni Erdei, Anna Hardy, and Associate Production Manager Will Thomas who all donated their time to make this stream a success. We are incredibly grateful to everyone on our BFXP team who joined us throughout the day, our studio’s supporters who cheered us on, and everyone who donated to this fantastic cause.
Extra Life is a community charity that encourages and supports fundraisers to play games – online or tabletop – to raise funds. The program supports the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and specifically drives creators to come together and make a real difference. For all of Beyond-FX’s Extra Life participation, we support our home studio’s nearest CMNH hospital, Children’s Hospital LA.
Upcoming Events
Not only are we thrilled to highlight projects that our Beyond-FX team has already participated in, but there are a few more on the calendar that we want to point out so that you can get involved! Help us go beyond for our community – and bring some of your own XP!
CHOC Walk
On the 21st of July, 2024, Beyond-FX will join the Gamers for CHOC, an initiative that rallies employees, players, and communities from local games-related studios, businesses, and groups, and participate in this year’s CHOC Walk event. The 5K walk will be hosted at the Disneyland Resort as a fundraising event dedicated to supporting the Children's Hospital of Orange County, part of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
Gamers For CHOC program, a pillar of participation in CHOC Walk events, was initially founded in 2020 and has rallied the gaming space around great causes and includes studios and companies like Riot Games, Jackbox Games, and Leadership Enthusiast. Since its inception, Gamers for CHOC has raised over $44 million – and we can’t wait to contribute to upping that this year! Alongside our team’s time and steps, BEyond-FX will donate $1500 to the Gamers for CHOC and CHOC Walk charities to support the event & its goals.
Help us go beyond and throw some of your own XP into the mix! The 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park is presented by Disneyland Resort and requires participants to register before the event. Those looking to attend will need to raise $125. The special experience brings the community together in a magical place and focuses efforts on creating opportunities to give the best care to children who need it.

Extra Life Game Day 24-Hour Marathon Live Stream
On the 2nd of November, 2024, we’ll embark on another charity Livestream for Extra Life’s global Game Day initiative on the Beyond-FX Arcade Twitch channel. We’re doubling our efforts, so this 24-hour livestream challenge aims to raise $4,000 in donation funds. Extra Life’s global Game Day initiative is a dedicated day where fundraisers host 24-hour livestreams to raise awareness and funds, with different livestreams joining others, amplifying the community XP and contributions throughout the day. We’re incredibly proud that 2024 marks our third time participating in the event. When the clock strikes midnight (about halfway through our stream), to cheer on and level up our teammates participating, Beyond-FX will match up to $1500 in contributions!
